I will always remember Penny for four things. 1. Her very distinctive voice. I could pick that voice out in a crowd! 2. Her welcoming warmth. Sophie was my first friend in Kingsbridge, which meant I met Penny pretty soon after. She made me feel welcome in the South Hams and helped me ease into our new home. 3. Her generosity. She rarely seemed to arrive at Soph’s without a gift, advice, hug, a laugh. She was a giver. 4. Her love for her family. She loved the bones of them, the flesh, the hair...everything. She visibly adored her people. Penny was a good egg...no, an excellent egg. I will remember you very fondly and will raise a glass of red to you in your honour. xxxx
