It's hard to find the words to say how hard this is and how much I miss Mum. She has just always been there for me-when iv been stung by a swarm of hornets (5 mins later she arrives with Waspeze and Piriton) and when Iv been half way around the world and have a problem. We spoke and saw each other most days, often speaking a few times a day about absolutely nothing! I am so lucky to have magical memories growing up with Mums huge amount of love surrounding me. Once I had Jacob-Mum who was eagerly awaiting his 2 week late arrival and managed to escape the hotel in height of season to meet him minutes after he was born, she would pop up to Surrey every few weeks with fillet steak supper prepared-feed us all, have a cuddle and head home the next day! Moving to Kingsbridge 14 years ago meant Jacob and then Max saw their Granny often. How thankful we all are to live in such a beautiful place and see so much of Mum. Mum believed in angels and loved birds. On the day she died (I was with her and Dad) the boys were in a field-grieving for Mum and a small tuneful bird hovered around them, above them, diving into the grass and making lots of noise. They all noticed this bird and it made them think of Mum. Later when they described the bird it turns out it was Mums favourite- a Skylark. We believe that was Granny/Mum and that she is all around us, the birds that sing, the wind that blows and the sun that warms our bones. Always in our hearts, Sophie, Matt, Jacob and Max x
